GENERAL ETCHING INFORMATION
Production Lead Time Production begins once the artwork proof has been approved. We require an in-hands date and any special delivery and packaging requirements with your order. Rush charges are applicable to certain orders if a short turnaround is required due to additional staff overtime expenses required to complete such orders. On average, we can produce your order within 2 weeks, however during peak season (November 1 - December 24) our lead time increases to 3 weeks.
Artwork Requirements Macintosh computers are used for all design, artwork and artwork e-mail processing. The main software used for artwork is Adobe Illustrator. The artwork must be a camera-ready image with defined edges and outlines. We accept artwork in either an electronic or hard copy format. Illustrator 8.0 or 9.0 for MAC is preferred. Color artwork can be converted to black and white for an art charge of $40 per hour (v) with a minimum charge of $17.50 (v) including any typesetting and minor adjustments.
Electronic Artwork can be sent on disk or via email. We can accept the following files.... Adobe Illustrator Save as Illustrator or Illustrator EPS. Type as outlines or be sure to include font file. This is the best type of file for us to use. Be sure to call out all colors in PMS numbers to avoid confusion. Photoshop TIFF (.TIF) files with resolution of 300 dpi minimum. Photoshop files that are over 1MB are requested on disk to avoid e-mail errors.
